This far

It's been long since I wrote anything and its not that I didnt wish to but just that I couldn't. But enough is enough, even if it is for 2 lines my mind need to scribble something thats visible to my eyes not just feel it.
I've come this far that its difficult to turn back not that it's not possible but its probably tragic and would be catastrophic to do so. Like a wandering soul in the desert think of giving up everything for the never ending sand in his sights, keep walking for there might not be an oasis to come but those burn marks have lot to teach.

The Wonder Years

This was one of the most famous sitcoms to be aired in the late 80's depicting a normal sub-urban american family from the late 70's from the eyes of a growing teen aged boy 'Kevin' played impressively by Fred Savage till he grows a bit old. The main parts are played by kevin, Winnie(his girl), Paul(best friend) and ably supported by veteran tv artists Dan Lauria and Alley Mills playing kevins parents. Also supported by his elder brother and sisters.

It was aired sometime in the late nineties in India on star plus and I made sure to catch up with almost all of the episodes. Some of the names that have appeared on the show now are a names in the industry like Juliette Lewis, Giovanni Ribisi of (Gone In 60 Seconds, Boiler Room, Saving Private Ryan, Lost in Translation and more recently, Public Enemies and Avatar) to name a few. The show to its credit has also won Emmy & Golden Globe awards too, but it lost it shine like everything when it grows old and losing of charm and innocence coinciding with the age of the main parts.

But the most common part which kep me glued to the series was not anything but the common-ness and average(ness) of the character played by Kevin(not counting the romantics of his life) but in every other parts of life like school, studies daily things of life , trying to find excuses for failures which I could relate to instantly.

The final sounds, voice-over and dialogue of the episode and series, is that of Kevin (Daniel Stern) providing concluding narration with the sound of children playing in the background:
Growing up happens in a heartbeat. One day you're in diapers, the next day you're gone. But the memories of childhood stay with you for the long haul. I remember a place, a town, a house, like a lot of houses. A yard like a lot of other yards. On a street like a lot of other streets. And the thing is, after all these years, I still look back...with wonder.

The genius called tendulkar nearly pulled off for India what would have been a great and improbable win just fell short of the mark and expectedly the rest weren't able to cope with the loss and we couldnt scrape past one across them. This is such a similar sight seeing sides not able to get the knockout punch to the Aussies in particular which can be attributed to the fact they might be more tougher mentally or the other sides are not that much as them.

Year 1999 , match : Ind vs Pak (test match), India lost almost on the doorsteps of victory, that time also the genius had taken them so close and this time too. That time it was such an emotional heartbreak for him and the nation that he was crying in the dressing room and didnt even turn up for the post match ceremony where he was the Man of Match.

Need to say what the man might be going through now. Words cannot express the disappointment he must be feeling now. As for me no matter how sad I am it'll be paling in comparison to what tendulkar might be going through ,able to console myself with that :(

life a.k.a movies

why can't "Life" be like movies? different Genres, different colors, different characters. They all have diferent story line ups and somehow I end up searching a part of me in all of these....and eventually we are more or less satisfied by the ending what happens there..or if not then we are either taught some lesson. But no matter how much I wish my life also turns out like a movie, it Flops :(

trick r treat...

As being a horror movie sucker I am always on the lookout for some good gory zombie, slasher, ghostly, bloody ..... etc etc ... type movies. Browsing through wikipedia catalog http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_horror_films I encountered this movie which stuck me by the picture of a cute pumpkin baby draped in a sack-cloth looking ominously. Read through some of the storyline and came to know the movie was pushed back for release by warner bros. and legendary pictures for some reasons. Finally its here, its a story of inter-related stories which are presented quite nicely. It shows merciless killings for not paying respect to someone's disabilities and abilities. All in all a nice opening 45mins with a subdued last 40mins but interesting to watch, must recommended along with Stephen king's IT which has some relation to this with kids in common and an amazing scene of Georgie falling for 'Pennywise the Clown' must see scene - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UzoPUHKZTNM&feature=PlayList&p=979873D7920478E1&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=30
